Tim Cooke has a background in media teaching and was Media Director
of Subnet, one of the first web design agencies in the UK. He has
published a collection of short stories (Comma Press) and had his
first novel turned into the film, 'The Principles of Lust'
(Pathe/Channel 4, 2003). He also spent several years as a regular
score composer for Channel 4.
He has
exhibited his photographs widely around the North West since the
early 90s when his work focused principally on shooting from the
hip and large-scale photocollage. More recently, he has examined
minimal landscapes, direct perspective and colour abstracts and
this year has already had two pieces of photographic work in the
'Held' exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery, with more work
appearing shortly as part of the 'Say It With' collection, again at
MAG. He is currently involved in delivering art outreach courses to
excluded minorities in Manchester.
