exhibition at 72 cafe in todmorden

yes, it's here, a show, yes, it's finally mine, all mine, my own show belonging to me, not anybody else, definitely not anybody else, le mien. so why not gather your sticks, hop on some form of transport and beetle your way up to todmorden. it's just a short walk from the train station, opposite the park on the road from tod to burnley. the coffee's damn good too, there are lots of well-designed snacks, you can write poems and leave them in the visitor book, and the owners are great. it's up to you. images of the work up on the walls coming shortly. yours t

still no comments

well, it's been some time since last we spoke. a long time in which i've been mainly living tightly packed inside my skull, not really speaking, nobody really to speak to. life continues as if normally, but in truth i'm closing down, the shutters are descending, all bargains are final. i quite liked the frostwire images, nice and crisp and combining the three elements of wire, ice and night/lights. but since then, things have been quiet. i was on a roll, maybe, but have come up short once again. i am absent where once i was or where once was an i. and still no comments.

the end of the yearning

well, it's just about here - the end of the yearning. the end of seeking and not finding. the end of entrances and exits of all kinds, ways out and up and in and through. what about onwards and upwards? or perhaps inwards and backwards? what next? the psychic ruling class, shot in the woods, arcane and unknowable, literally obscene? stay close.

colour abstracts (and the price of pear cider)

out a couple of nights ago, kim's by the sea in hulme, with julie and petros, when colour combinations caught the eye. had previously been taking massive close-ups of candle holders but now, inspired by suggestion from julie, i snapped away. bit of a difficulty later on, and a much greater one last night, but the thing is that some people export negativity, impose it onto those gullible enough to take it on board, and after it's built up to screaming point it does literally have to be screamed or shouted out. a kind of logical contradiction occurs like a singularity in space, and there is an explosion. anyway, we had one and though now the seas have calmed the underlying problems still remain, the same people, unchanged and unchagrinned, continuing to generate and export crap, negativity and hatred without thought or even the most basic awareness - indeed they always seem to think that they are the ones hard-done-by. note to self: shouldn't bitch behind backs - come out with how you feel directly.

flowers and night out at the sandbar

a walk around todmorden park produced some interesting flower shots. what is it about flowers? something absorbing - maybe the challenge to try and do something a bit different with them? pretty hard though - they get a lot of coverage. then a couple of nights out at the sandbar in manchester with petros, neil, ra, sarah and various others. so why the table-tops and no portraits? well, nobody seemed too keen - apart from ra at the end.

blimey. no comments yet. what does a guy have to do to get noticed around here? rob a bank? appear on radio 1 and josh with chris moyles? listen to 'the kaiser chiefs'? pay myself a 6.5 million pound bonus and then make everybody else foot the bill? or be seen in the same room as katie price? FOR GOD'S SAKE! what counts as important and interesting these days? aren't images worth commenting on? why not just leave a word. even it's abusive, at least it's some form of engagement. anyway, i'm going to my niece's birthday party now. talk later.

last night at the sandbar

went out last night with petros, tom and tam. took a few pictures including one shot simply of glasses on a table in the outside smoking space the lighting on which is astounding. not many others of note, though decent shot of tam. neil bell joined us later on, but didn't seem in the mood for photographs.

christina comes to stay

had some fun photographing friends the other night. christina, vicky and cara came to stay up in todmorden. christina had a new mini camera and so we all embarked on a photographic frenzy, some of the results of which can be seen in 'the little leica'
